Parks & Facilities Info:

The City of Claremont's Park system consists of many parks and facilities. Claremont has gems such as the Arrowhead Rec. Area and the Riverside Skateboard Park. Other facilities/parks include: Barnes, Monadnock, Moody, and Veterans Park as well as the Visitor’s Center Green.

Arrowhead Recreation Area Info:

225 acres located at 18 Robert Easter Way, Arrowhead offers year round outdoor recreation. The amenities include:

  • Downhill Skiing
  • Cross Country Skiing
  • Snowboarding
  • Snowshoeing
  • Ice Skating
  • Tubing
  • Mountain Biking
  • Hiking
  • Picnic Amenities
  • Lodge
This city owned facility is home to many Parks and Recreation Department Programs along with the Arrowhead Recreation Club.

Barnes Park Info:

7.2 Acres located at 9 Bernard Way near the intersection of Elm Street & North Street. It is home to Outdoor Basketball Courts, Playground Equipment, & an Ice Skating Rink During the Winter Months, as well as local Baseball & Football Games. The amenities include:

  • Two Lighted Basketball Courts
  • Grandstand & Baseball Field
  • Soccer/Football Field
  • Playground Structure
Park hours are 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM.

Monadnock Park Info:

29 acres located at 190 Broad Street. Entrances are located both on Broad Street and Chestnut Street. Amenities include:

  • 1/4 mile Synthetic Surface Running Track
  • Three Little League Baseball Diamonds
  • Football Field with Lights, Bleachers and a Field House
  • Tennis Courts
  • Playground Structure
  • 200 Parking Spaces
During the year Monadnock Park is used for many events including Steven’s High School Athletics.

Park hours are 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM.

Moody Park Info:

May 22, 2020

Moody Park will officially be open to vehicular traffic beginning on Saturday, May 23, 2020. The park hours are 8 AM to 8:30 PM. Due to COVID-19, the playground will remain closed and there will not be portable toilets available at this time due to sanitations concerns. Reservations for group rentals will not be taken until further notice. While using the parks, please follow social distancing guidelines to help keep our community safe.
The tennis courts at Monadnock Park are now open. To help with social distancing, there are only going to be 3 nets set up at this time to help keep space between games and to limit the number of participants on the courts at one time. Only singles play will be permitted. Please bring your own racket and tennis balls. We ask that you write your initials on each of your tennis balls and that you only handle your own equipment. Bathroom facilities will not be available at this time due to COVID-19 and sanitation concerns.

325 acres located at 152 Maple Ave. This park is available for residents and visitors to enjoy outdoor activities. Trail maps may be downloaded HERE. Amenities include:

  • Cross Country Skiing
  • Snowshoeing
  • Ice Skating
  • Several Maintained Trails for Mountain Biking and/or Hiking
  • A Stone Pavilion with Wooden Roof
  • Picnic Tables
  • Fire Pits
  • Tennis Courts
  • Playground Structure

Moody Park Vehicular Traffic Hours:

  • Daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day – 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
  • During the Fall, Winter and Spring Months the park is accessible by foot traffic only.
  • A permit, at no fee, is required for special event use.

Phase #1 of Moody Park Trail Upgrades & Improvements

    Veteran's Park Info:

    35 acres located at  25 Veterans Park Road. Amenities include:

    • Lighted Softball Field
    • Horseshoe Pits
    • Public Playground
    Park hours are 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM.

    General park rules:

    • PARK HOURS: No person shall be permitted in park facilities between the hours of 9:30 PM and 6:00 AM or posted hours.
    • DOGS AND CATS ONLY: These animals are permitted if in control by a leash or under command of the owner, but are not allowed within the fenced-in portion of game playing facilities and playgrounds. No other pets or animals are allowed.

    • PET WASTE REMOVAL: This is required under Ordinance 516, Section 4-34. Pet owners are required to clean up after their pets. Owners must remove their pet’s waste from city owned properties and dispose of it as it is a public nuisance. Fines of $25.00 for the first offense and $100.00 for the second or subsequent offense will be charged if you do not comply.
    • MOTORIZED VEHICLES: Any kind are permitted only on the roadways and parking areas maintained for motorized vehicles and may not be operated on paths and trails not maintained for non-motorized, wheeled recreation equipment such as skateboards, roller blades, bicycles, scooters and the like. All vehicles must be operated in compliance with all applicable state and local laws and regulations.
    • PERMITS: They are required for group usage of game fields, camping, use of all lodges and pavilions, for vending of food and drink by nonprofit organizations and for any purpose listed in City Code Section 12-52.
    • LITTERING OR DEPOSIT OF RUBBISH: In other than designated receptacles is prohibited.
    • ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: They are not allowed in park facility and no intoxicated person shall enter or remain in any park facility.
    • DAMAGE OR DESTRUCTION: This is prohibited on park property.
    • INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR: This includes nudity, indecent exposure, lewd, lascivious, obscene or indecent act or behavior or use of abusive, profane or indecent language is prohibited.
    • VIOLATIONS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED: Violators of this regulation will be asked to leave the park and will be subject to assessment of penalties under applicable law and regulation.

    Use of Athletic Field Guidelines:
    All groups and organizations who wish to use the athletic fields such as baseball diamond, softball diamonds, football fields, and soccer fields must schedule their event in advance at the Parks & Recreation Office.

    Permits for group picnics at park locations should be obtained at the Parks & Recreation/CSBCC office.

    • Space is available on a first come, first served basis.

    With the number of users we see in our parks throughout the year, playground equipment, benches, tables, and other equipment are sure to see wear and tear and potentially to be damaged and need to be fixed, removed and/or replaced. This would also apply to fallen trees, broken fences or anything out of the ordinary within one of the parks.     In the event that you witness someone vandalizing equipment or facilities or you are injured and need medical attention, please dial 911 and request the emergency services you need at your location.
